- You paid late once but have an otherwise strong history → try a Goodwill Letter.
- You want to settle a collection and get it removed → consider a Pay-for-Delete Letter.
- Someone opened accounts in your name → send an Identity Theft Dispute Letter.
- A collector keeps calling and you want it to stop → send a Cease and Desist Letter.

- A bureau "verified" an item you know is wrong → follow up with a Method of Verification Letter.
- You can pay part of a debt as a lump sum → propose it with a Debt Settlement Offer Letter.
